The 3 Biggest Mistakes Wedding Pros Make During the Busy Season
May 29, 2025
After 10 years of seeing them first hand, I HAVE to share the 3 BIGGEST mistakes I see wedding pros from ALL industries making during the busy season.
I'm breaking down:
- The #1 social media mistake
- The mistake that's impacting MORE than just your business
- And finally, the mistake that's possibly the hardest to come back from
Mistake #1: Going quiet on social media.
Going quiet for months because you are so busy is a huge mistake, because social media really is great for marketing to future clients. It's okay to go quiet a few days a week, but you CANNOT log off for 7 day a week and expect your potential future clients to stay interested. The thing you can do is share that you ARE BUSY! Being consistent doesn't have to mean staying on our phone for long. By taking an extra 30 seconds to snap a quick videos during your wedding day tasks, you now have SOMETHING to post later in the week. Staying consistent helps you stay relevant in the business and markets your brand!

Mistake #2: Burning out.
As human beings we NEED to take breaks because we can easily get overwhelmed and stressed. We can avoid this by accepting that it is going to be a busy season, AND incorporating rest by doing what recharges you! Being intentional and planning in your rest can be SO HELPFUL.
Plan a short hike, grab breakfast with friends, or even do self care to help you relax. Be INTENTIONAL with your rest and recovery on your days off, so that you have the energy to do what you need to!
Mistake #3: Taking stress out on other vendors.
A wedding can be a stressful day, but you absolutely DO NOT want to project your stress onto the other vendors. It doesn't matter if you think they're wrong or they have less years of experience, we are all a team and we are hired to work together. We are NOT in a competition, and it's not justifiable to take out stress on other vendors. The best thing is to control the way we react and treat other people when we do get overwhelmed and stressed. Be respectful, kind, and talk things through without blowing up. Being rude to fellow vendors is not only wrong, it's totally unprofessional. Leaning on each other is a huge key to success and it's the best thing because we are all teammates on the same mission for our client!
Some of these things can be HARD to avoid. The best thing you can do to avoid making these mistakes - PLAN AHEAD!!
